My Spousal VisaAfter two years of indecisiveness, we finally decided that we wanted to move back to England. Unfortunately, my visa got refused the first time around. This was devastating.
The most important thing was to ensure that our older son had a decent school to go to in the fall. Our neighborhood school is one of the worst in the area, and so we had planned for him to start ASAP at the local village school in England. But now with the refused visa, we had to make sure all our bases were covered in the event that we’d be too delayed for him to start school in England.
As luck would have it, we happened upon and applied for an amazing French immersion program here in the US. It’s a lottery system, and we’ll find out in the next two weeks if he gets accepted or not.
And so if he gets accepted, we’ll stay put. The great educational opportunity combined with my husband’s booming business will be enough to keep us here. If he doesn’t get accepted, I’ll use this spousal visa.
Hopefully then, this roller-coaster nightmare of decision-making madness will finally be over.
